Hazel Yin is a partner of the antitrust and foreign investment team at RuiMin. She specialises in antitrust and competition law and foreign investment matters in China and globally, with a focus on domestic and international merger control, foreign investment and national security reviews, antitrust investigations and internal compliance.
Hazel has almost 20 years of experience representing Chinese and multinational clients in relation to some of the most complex merger control matters and investigations. Hazel has deep expertise advising clients across a variety of industry sectors including beverages, pharmaceutical, automotive, internet, aviation, finance and consumables, hi-tech, manufacturing, chemical, logistics, mining, and consumer electronics.
Hazel has constantly been recognised by Chambers and Who's Who Legal as a leading antitrust lawyer in China. She was named to Global Competition Review's '40 Under 40' list in 2020 and the Asian Legal Business 'Top 15 Female Lawyers' in China in 2019.
Hazel is a respected voice on competition regulations and trends in China, frequently consulted by the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), the Chinese antitrust regulator, on antitrust legislation, and contribute to government projects. She is a sought-after speaker at prominent global antitrust conferences and had the distinction of being the only Chinese lawyer invited by the SAMR to speak at the 8th BRICS International Competition Conference in 2021.
Hazel frequently publishes articles on competition matters with world leading legal publications including Competition Policy International and GTDT Merger Control. One of her papers won the Best Antitrust Academic Article in the Asian Antitrust Category of Concurrences 2020 Antitrust Writing Awards.
Before joining RuiMin, Hazel was a partner of leading international firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where she was a co-head of the firm's China competition practice. She was a partner of King & Wood Mallesons in China prior to that.
Hazel speaks fluent English and Mandarin.

Qualifications
Hazel received her Bachelor of Art and Master of Law degrees from Southwest University of Political Science and Law. She also received an LL.M. degree from Columbia Law School and the Postgraduate Diploma on EU Competition Law from King’s College London. She is qualified in China and the State of New York.
