Murphy Li is a counsel at RuiMin. His primary practice areas include M&A, private equity, equity capital market transactions and general corporate advice.

Before joining RuiMin, Murphy worked at the leading Chinese firm Fangda Partners for six years.

Murphy speaks fluent English and Mandarin.

    • Advising Cainiao on: i) establishing an RMB8.5bn warehousing and logistics fund with China Life; ii) its RMB5.3bn financing; iii) its around RMB3.2bn financing and new joint venture with YTO (圆通速递), ZTO (中通快递),  STO (申通快递), Yun Da (韵达快递),  Best Express (百世汇通) and Yun Feng Capital (云锋基金); iv) its around RMB1bn financing and new joint venture with ZTO (中通快递) and Yun Da (韵达快递); v) its US$290m acquisition of the controlling stake in Dianwoda, a leading crowd source delivery services company in China; and vi) its relevant general corporate matters

    • Advising Midea Group (000333.SZ) on: i) its RMB2.3bn acquisition of the controlling stake of Wandong Medical (600055.SH);   ii) its establishment of four joint ventures in China with KUKA AG with a transaction size of RMB4bn; iii) its various joint venture matters in China; and iv) its relevant general corporate matters

    • Advising Foshan Construction & Development Group on its acquisition of controlling interests in A-share listed company Guangdong Wenke Green Technology (002775.SZ) at a consideration of around RMB632m

    • Advising Kaistar Lighting on its acquisition of two US LED companies, i.e. Bridgelux, INC. (a Delaware company) and Intematix Corporation (a California company), with a total transaction size of around US$140m

    • Advising large domestic and multinational enterprises such as Alibaba Group, Ant Group, HEYTEA, Sandvik  Machining Solutions AB and renowned investment institutions such as GGV Capital, PAG, CMB International, CCB Trust, TCL Venture Capital and VKC, on their M&A and private equity transactions covering a wide range of industry sectors including artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, TMT, consumer products and retails, logistics, renewable energy, etc


  • Qualifications

    Murphy graduated from Peking University where he obtained LLB and LLM degrees. He is qualified in China.
