Silvia Gong

Silvia Gong is a partner of the RuiMin team. Her primary practice areas include M&A, private equity, overseas capital markets and general corporate advice.

Before joining RuiMin, Silvia was a partner of leading Chinese firm Fangda Partners and was there for 18 years.
Silvia speaks fluent English and Mandarin.

  • Advising Cainiao Group on: i) establishing an RMB8.5bn warehousing and logistics fund with China Life; ii) its RMB10bn financing; and iii) on its around RMB3bn financing and new joint venture with YTO (圆通快递), ZTO (中通快递), STO (申通快递), Yun Da (韵达快递), Best Express (百世汇通) and Yun Feng Capital (云锋基金)
  • Advising Oriza, Boyu Capital and other investors on their RMB2bn investment in SF Express Group
  • Advising Alibaba Group on its various investments and acquisitions totaling over RMB10bn, including the US$600m investment in Meizu, the RMB830m acquisition of Guangzhou Yue Ke Software, and etc.
  • Advising Ant Financial on its various investments totaling over RMB5bn, including the RMB1.5bn investment in Orbbec
  • Advising Midea and KUKA AG on their joint venture projects with a combined investment of around RMB4bn
  • Advising China Resource on its RMB2.5bn acquisition of Tesco's PRC business (including about 20 shopping mall projects and more than 100 hypermarkets)
  • Advising the affiliates of Shenzhen Kaifa (Stockcode: 000021, the subsidiary of CEC) on its over US$150m acquisition of US LED business
  • Advising Shenzhen Sino-agriculture Co., Ltd. and its shareholders on its HK$2.6bn share swap with Hong Kong-listed Zall Group Ltd. (Stock Code: 2098)
  • Advising PAG Investment, VKC Capital, Boyu Capital and other investment funds on their investment in various TMT, consumer market, financial service, technology manufacturing companies
  • Advising Goldman Sachs (Asia) L.L.C., Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, UBS and other investment banks as sponsors on various overseas listing projects, including the initial public offering and listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange of the group spin-off from BYD Company Limited, the initial public offering and listing on the New York Stock Exchange of Vipshop Holdings Limited, and etc.

Qualifications

Silvia graduated from East China University of Politics & Law where she obtained LLB and LLM degrees. She also obtained a LLM degree from University of Warwick. She has been admitted to practice in the PRC.
