Shawn Liu is a counsel of the RuiMin team. His primary practice areas include M&A, private equity, foreign direct investment, and general corporate advice.

Before joining RuiMin, Shawn was a counsel of leading Chinese firm Fangda Partners and was there for 15 years.

Shawn speaks fluent English and Mandarin.

Advising Cainiao on: (i) its US$1.5bn financing and related restructuring; (ii) establishing an RMB8.5bn warehousing and logistics fund with China Life; and (iii) its various investments totaling over RMB3.5bn in logistics-related area, including the acquisition of Zhejiang Xinyi.
Advising Alibaba on its various investments and acquisitions, including the investment of about US$600m in Meizu, the RMB830m acquisition of Guangzhou Yue Ke Software, the RMB650m investment in Qingdao Haier Multimedia Co., Ltd., and etc.
Advising Ant Financial on its various investments, including the RMB1.5bn investment in Orbbec, the RMB600m investment in Southern Galaxy Valley, the RMB200m investment in JParking, and etc.
Advising China Resources Enterprise in its acquisition of Tesco’s China retail and commercial real estate businesses in China and formation of its joint venture with Tesco.
Advising VKC Capital, Welkin Capital, PAG Investment and other institutional investors on their investments in the companies in various areas of TMT, credit and financial services, and etc.

Shawn obtainedhis LLB degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He has been admitted to practice in the PRC.
